CUMC Pastor Appointment Ceremony

Rev. Melaina Trice celebrates her appointment as Pastor of CUMC on Sunday, August 11, 2024. The Order of Celebration was facilitated by Evangeline Crawford, Trustee Board Vice Chair.

Rev. Trice reaffirmed her commitment in the presence of the congregation. In which she was agreed to be a bearer of the Word of God; a minister of the Sacraments; and a sustainer of the love, order, service, and discipleship of the people of God. 

In turn, the congregation also stated its commitment to support her in this appointment through prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. 

During the Order of Celebration of the Appointment, Pastor Trice was presented with the following gifts:

  • A Bible was presented by June Fauber, CLM,
  • Water, presented by Stephnie Samuel, CLM
  • Bread and Cup, presented by Owen Johnson, CLM
  • Hymnal and a Book of Worship, presented by Pam Stahl, Lay Servant
  • The Book of Discipline, presented by Carol Bell, CLM
  • A Globe, presented by Atara Scott-Bourne
  • A Stole, presented by Rev. Dr. Johnsie Cogman, District Superintendent
