Clinton UMC
Clinton United Methodist Church (CUMC) began October 31, 1965 and served as a beacon of love, hope, peace, and light in the community of Clinton. It continues to do so today.
CUMC is predominately African-American, yet diverse church that is multi-cultural and multi-ethnic. We is situated near Andrews Air Force Base and have many active duty and military veterans in our church.
We have been blessed to have been led by many wonderful pastors who were dedicated to the mission and vision of Clinton UMC. Each brought their different gifts and graces to their shepherding role of pastor. Currently, CUMC is led by Rev. Melaina Trice.
CUMC is a Methodist church which means that it connectional and in communion with all over the US, and throughout Africa, Philippines, and Europe--more than 13 million Christians globally. The people of the United Methodist Church are putting their faith into action around the world by making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Through this connectional system, we are able to make positive changes around the world (in more than 125 countries).
John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist Movement, preached grace as the starting and end points of our lives that perfects us to love wholly and completely. This grace fuels our faith that engages our traditions, scripture, reason, and experiences to be the church that loves all as God loves for the transformation of the world. Grace fuels us to "do all the good we can, by all the means we can, in all the ways we can, in all the places we can, at all the times we can, to all the people we can, as long as ever we can."
